What personality type are you and how do you think this effects your effectiveness when it comes to making a sale. Well believe it or not knowing what personality type you are has everything to do with how good of a salesperson you are. Once you learn that you can learn to adust your sales style based on the type of individual customer that you deal with.
If you are in sales then knowing your personality type is half the battle to becoming the type of salesperson you may have only dreamed of. Knowing how to read yourself and being honest with what your strengths and weaknesses are is vital to achieving the next level of success. Do you know what one of the top reasons why people leave a store only to go and buy the same product at another store is? Did you guess it, the number one reason and I am sure you have probably experienced this in your own life is the customer did not like the salesperson.
Plain and simple the majority of times that people turn away from prospective purchase and end up buying the same thing at the competitiors store is you the salesperson. Why is that? It’s obvious really, each customer has a different personality type and every customer has a specific way that they like to hear a sales pitch. That’s right if you have a single sales approach for every customer that comes to you then the odds are you are missing out on a ton of sales!
Now obviously you can not possibly learn quickly enough what kind of personality type each and every customer is that comes to you. You can however learn to taylor your own sales pitch to each customer based on some simple clues that every customer will give you. Are they looking for the hard facts and stats about the products or are they trying to relate the usefulness of the product to their own lives. Are they loyal to a particular brand or more loyal to their budget. Do they have a certain product in mind or are they looking for some guidance to a product that can be a solution for them.
These are all clues that when you learn to pick up on and learn to change your sales pitch at a moments notice can elevate your sales game to a whole new level.
